I came here to apply for my SSN card. I highly recommend making an appointment online first—it saved me hours! The staff at the window was professional and double-checked all my documents (passport, I-94, visa) to ensure everything was correct. The security guards were also very helpful in directing people. Smooth process if you come prepared!

Walk-in Name Change; Quick Service. Needed to change my last name, but the soonest available appointment time was at Angelton. This office is closest, so I wanted see if they could take me as a walk-in instead of having to drive an hour away. They did. SHOW UP EARLY I arrived 30 minutes before they opened this morning (Wednesday). There was already a line, but it wasn’t too long. When it was time to open, security came out and gave some basic instructions, then we all walked in and stood in a hallway line to wait for an available window. No check-in kiosk required (I think because we were there early). Only stood in line about 5-7 minutes before they directed me to a window. COME PREPARED I had already filled out a name change application on the SSA website and brought my required documents, which made everything quick. The whole visit was done in 20 minutes from the time the doors opened to the time I got back in my car. I don’t doubt the other reviews, but I didn’t have any problems at this office and my experience was a good one. Security was professional, communicated clearly, and greeted us with a “good morning”, other workers that were there to help move the line along were courteous and answered questions, and the young man who helped me at the window was efficient.

The lady we got was so pushy and rude. We were the first people she saw too and immediately was annoyed with us. Then she talked a bit quiet as her other coworkers were yapping loudly so she kept getting mad at me that I couldn't hear. Then as I was checking to see if the appointment date would work for me, she kept asking "do you want the appointment????" About 6x one after the other after I had said let me check my calendar to make sure. Learn some people skills or get a different job. Don't make your terrible attitude or bad day someone elses problem. Update: day of my appointment and confirmed my number, it is now 2 hours past my appointment time and no one has called me. I spent hours going through all the medical records and paperwork in preparation for this appointment. Just cut your losses with this place and go through a lawyer. This is ridiculous

Often in life it is how you talk to people that encourages people to help you. I was there this morning, and they saw me even without an appointment. This Social Security office is outstanding. It operates with impressive efficiency, and I truly appreciate that my taxpayer dollars are supporting such excellent service. The security guards are courteous and respectful, creating a welcoming environment. The two staff members managing ticket calls and window assignments demonstrate exceptional professionalism and efficiency. Overall, this office sets a great example of how public services should be run.

I was treated very poorly with rude service. As someone who works in customer service & always treat people with respect, I expected the same treatment. I waited patiently and when I asked a question I was told “I don’t know what to tell you, I said I was not answering questions” but I was not there when that was informed. It’s one thing to address something nicely but with an attitude and out loud where everyone can hear and all eyes are on me is just so rude. Working in customer service means treating people with respect even if you don’t feel best, I approached the lady kindly and got a negative response, very unprofessional.
