Wow! Had to leave a review because I’ve never been this impressed by a government employee before. The man at the table set up when you enter the room helped us with our new baby’s SS card and was efficient, helpful, and kind. I wish I remembered his name! We had an appointment and only had to wait 5 minutes. My husband: “Double his pay!” “Are government employees allowed to be this efficient?” “This restores my faith in humankind.” Fast, easy trip to social security (how??). Ten stars.

I was prepared for the worst today because it’s a govt building. The parking was simple ,( albeit a fortune- 20$), the admission into the building was smooth, all guards were pleasant. I told one guard I was afraid of going up 28 floors, she literally held my hand! Met another lovely lady waiting to be seen. We exchanged,” Atlanta stories”. The entry door to the actual office had a security guard who was polite and helpful. They were running a tad behind, so when I got up to my window #8, the young lady apologized for the wait. She was proficient, and polite, and quick! Overall very good experience id say!

The first step at the SSA office is a security check at the entrance. The office is on the 28th floor. I had an appointment at 12:10 PM, arrived at 11:40 AM, took my number, and still had to wait about 1 hour and 30 minutes to be called. The wait time was long despite having an appointment. Walk-ins are not allowed, so make sure to book an appointment before visiting. Also, bring all required documents, such as: Photo ID (passport, driver’s license, or state ID) Social Security card (if applicable) Birth certificate (if needed) Proof of address (utility bill, lease, or bank statement) Immigration documents (if applicable) The process is slow, so be prepared for a long wait.

Today I visited social security on the 28th floor, everything went smoothly after making an appointment two weeks ago, at 1 pm today, I arrived at the office around 11.45 after waiting for my queue number to be called at exactly 1 am, I was assisted by Ms. Chessy at counter 20 this afternoon, thank you I was able to update my social security easily thanks to her help, all 5 stars! Amazing

I had an appointment scheduled for 7/31/2025 at 1:40pm. I showed on time and was told after my application was supposed to be processed that I would receive my SS card in the mail in 10-14 business days. I gave them 4 weeks before I called just to find out I was never entered into the system. I went to the office again hoping to get the situation expedited due to there staffs incompetence; the best the supervisor could do was reschedule me a month in advance half out. So that this don’t happen to you make sure you get a receipt after your visit and keep up with it!
