I was not aware that they switched to appointments only. I waited 3hrs to be told that I needed an appointment to change my name. So I went and made an appointment. There was not another appointment until 2 months later. My appointment was at 10am I waited a whole hour and an half after to be seen. What is the point of making an appointment if you aren’t seen on time??? THEN when I was finally called they let me know that I didn’t have an appointment. I showed proof that I did then the lady without showing me anytime of proof said I must’ve made it for a different location, and conveniently when I tried to go the gov id to sign in the site wasn’t working. So I wasted even more time. Ridiculous.

HAD AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED! WAITED FOR THIS APPOINTMENT FOR WEEKS. waited in line this morning, took my ticket and was seated at window 7. Lady at the window took my ticket and sighed, first person of the day and she already had an attitude . I explained to her why I was there and she proceeded to tell me that I didn’t have an appointment. Odd, she kept insinuating that I was lying about having an appointment said I had to reschedule because she couldn’t find me anywhere in the system and I didn’t have a confirmation text/email. When I tried searching for it on my phone she told me to get off. Asked me for my zip code, when she looked it up she said she didn’t serve my side of town, which again was Very rude. I scheduled based on availability not location. Told me this is was happens when I wait to get things done. I was clearly upset and told her I’d take the next available appointment because I had no choice at this point. Since she couldn’t help me. I called the ss 1800 number and told them what had happened. They told me they saw my appointment time and scheduled for today and unsure why I was treated the way I did today. So now I have to wait months for the next available. If you don’t like your job find a new one. I took time off of work today to get this done while she sits there getting paid to treat people like crap.

Extremely disappointed. A customer service representative’s highest priority should be providing actual help, yet the staff here seemed more interested in getting us out of the way. Not everyone can navigate online portals, and it’s a shame that those seeking in-person guidance are met with such an unbothered, dismissive attitude. Being 'nice' and 'helpful' shouldn't be too much to ask for when it's literally the job description.

In person is more frustrating than the 800 number. Online offers absolutely no services except the tag line of see your local office. The lady was nice and fixed what the other office messed up but was short and borderline rude with stating that I have to go to another office because this office doesn’t serve me; while 800 number says all offices are available.

I had a previous visit that was difficult and frustrating, which required me to come back a second time after almost a month. However, during my most recent visit, Ms. Hernandez made the entire process fast, smooth, and very professional. I truly appreciate her efficiency, patience, and helpful attitude. She made a big difference in my experience. Thank you!
