It sounds like my experience might not be the norm, but I wanted to add it anyway. I do agree with other reviewers that the website is incredibly confusing and requires you to submit all your information before even seeing what appointments are available. As far as I could tell, the system that is supposed to allow you to check multiple locations for appointments is broken, at least in the mobile site. Luckily, when I arrived for my appointment, all members of the staff were incredibly helpful, from security to the social security staff members. I arrived right at my appointment time, and I did wait about 45 minutes to be seen. Once I was seen, the process was very quick. I wanted to specifically mention the police officer/social worker who was helping everyone in the waiting room. As you can imagine, people from all walks of life are waiting in the office, and he responded to each of them with compassion and care. I wish I had gotten his name, but he was doing everything from making announcements and reassuring people who were very distressed to holding tickets while people went to the bathroom so they wouldn’t lose their place in line. He went above and beyond what I assume is in his job description, and he did it with respect and empathy. He is the perfect person for the job.

I’ve visited this SSA office a few times, and each visit has been remarkably positive. The security officer at the entrance is an extremely kind and compassionate person. He goes out of his way to help everyone check in, calmly manages the waiting area, and even speaks multiple languages to better assist visitors. On my most recent visit, I had an appointment for 3:10 p.m. and arrived at 3:05 p.m.; I was called exactly on time. Each time I’ve been here, the staff at the counter have been friendly, efficient, and genuinely helpful in resolving my issues. Given the negative reviews I had read beforehand, I was very pleasantly surprised. In my experience, this office is well-run, organized, and staffed by people who care about providing good service.

Came without appointment at 2pm, was able to get an appointment within 40 minutes, staff was nice and the building is beautiful.

Was having a real hard time with my direct deposit, I couldn’t reach anyone from direct express for over a week, frustrating to say the least. Dan, one of the employees there was very nice, kind, caring and empathetic with my problem. He managed to get them to call me back within 90 minutes. Had he not been there to help, I might still not have access to my benefit. Thanks Dan, You are the Man !!!
