I recently visited the Social Security office regarding my father, who has been severely disabled for over 10 years following a traumatic brain injury. We recently went through a disability reevaluation, and Social Security determined that he was able to work. In reality, due to the severity of his condition, that simply is not possible. While dealing with this difficult situation, I was assisted by Andrea Alford, and I felt compelled to leave this review because of the exceptional service she provided. Over the past decade of working with the Social Security Administration on my father’s case, I can honestly say I have never encountered someone as professional, patient, and kind as Ms. Alford. I had several questions about the paperwork we were required to complete, and she took the time to carefully walk me through everything and explain it in detail so that I fully understood the process. The office was clearly busy, and the wait time was around an hour without an appointment, yet she still treated us with patience and respect and never made us feel rushed. I truly hope someone in administration sees this review and recognizes her for the outstanding job she is doing. Employees like Andrea Alford are exactly what public service should look like. It’s reassuring to see taxpayer money supporting dedicated federal employees who genuinely care about helping people. Social Security offices sometimes get a bad reputation, but based on my experience, this office demonstrates the level of professionalism that others across the system should strive for. Thank you again to Ms. Alford for her professionalism and compassion.

I hadn’t been here in years. What a difference! I stopped by today to update some personal information, not really knowing what to expect after so long away. I was genuinely surprised. The office has been renovated and expanded, and the difference is night and day. It’s organized, clean, and well laid out. I waited only 15 minutes before being called. Fifteen. At a Social Security office. The staff member who helped me was courteous and efficient, and my whole transaction was done in 7 minutes. Start to finish: 23 minutes total. That kind of experience deserves to be recognized. They’re doing something right here, and the people working there clearly take their jobs seriously. Highly recommend coming in if you’ve been putting off an errand; you might be just as pleasantly surprised as I was.

I had to visit the Social Security Administration office at 11100 SW 211th Street in Miami to drop some official documentation for my Medicare application. I walked in without appointment and no high expectations. I walked in thinking that if I could get some information, I would be glad. The overall experience was great. At the check-in, the guard was not only polite and respectful but also ready to help. The number assignemt process was smooth, and in less than 10 minutes, i was called in, by name! The person who assisted me, Miss Etchegaray, was very well imformed of my case. She was knowledgeable, professional, polite and friendly. Not only she was able to answer my questions... she solved my case and my application was successfully submitted. She went the extra mile and provided some useful information on what to expect next, and what to do the day i need additional coverage. She also kindly offered to have my SS card replaced! So, in summary, i went in with low expectations, and when i left i was so happy that i "killed 3 birds with one stone", thanks to Miss Etchegaray. It is just fair to recognize when you receive excellent service and they make you feel they care about you. With all the government cost cuttings going on, there are people who still care about service! To tell the truth, customer service is not a quality even large multi-billion corporations care about!

I had an awesome representative. I think his name was Alex. Very helpful over the phone and in person. I made an appointment, which I believe is probably the source of a lot of people's frustration if they don't have one. I can only speak for the one person I dealt with, but I had a quick and problem-free visit.

If I could give 0 stars to the Perrine Office location I would. The staff is disrespectful and disgusting. People have been affected tremendously by unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances that affect them. For 1 visit resolution issues I have been back and forth for months since November to be told one document at a time this or that is missing. Sensitive and personal health records misplaced. Having to be ridiculed of my current temporary financial situation being called low income because you and the fellow staff are incompetent and care more about sharing cafecito and chisme is embarrassing. And this office is long overdue for an in depth investigation and review on training and customer service. The office manager needs to consider a huge overhaul for several departments. And for the record the idea that every individual that receives benefits is uneducated is a very ignorant assumption. Common decency, empathy, and at the very least respect is due to any human. In the position that the staff here holds you would think they would understand that. It’s unfortunate that a institution providing assistance to the public has to be reviewed in this manner. Prayers to anyone experiencing difficulties that has to deal with anyone in this office. It is my prayer that the lord keeps you and your family near and without indirect burdens caused by people who truly do not care at the end of the day.
