Letter to the SSA Inspector General Office. Every employee at the DC Social Security Office, located at 1905 9th St NE, Washington, DC, who receives a federal paycheck, is complicit in "Waste." I request that you conduct a site visit to observe the situation firsthand. I recommend the immediate closure of the entire facility. This situation is a detrimental reflection on the federal government. I am perplexed by their 1-star rating across the website. They appear to be the only zero-rated federal agency in America. They abuse patrons and exhibit unprofessional and rude behavior. There is no justification for any of them to receive taxpayer compensation. When concerns are escalated to management, they resort to closing off access and requesting security to remove individuals. I urge you to use your authority to shut down this site immediately and suspend all employee payments pending an investigation. If you require specific details, I can share numerous disturbing accounts. However, I strongly recommend an undercover visit to witness firsthand how this site damages the reputation of the federal government. Thank you for your consideration and support with protecting the US taxpayer from federal waste.

Not too bad. A bit rude when it comes to dealing with customers who have simple questions and are unhappy for whatever reasons. Their way of handling people who are in distress reminds me of how they handle people in prison or jail. Not trying to help the person. Just giving them the choice to sit down and be quiet or to leave. It was mostly the security guard. But there was no help for the person who was having issues with getting his Social Security card. Totally unprofessional. On the other hand, the lady I dealt with at the windows was a delight. Perfectly professional and friendly. So my experience was so so.

The intake employee provided misinformation, had no name badge; got agitated with me when I differed with her answers regarding my visit to center as I referenced to document received. She informed me that representative was busy; to return with documents & leave in drop box. I asked for written documentation since the info wasn't listed on the notice I received. I asked to see the center director & was instructed to go into a booth. I wasn't seen by center director but heard her conversing with intake person & other personnel. Finally seen by representative who documented & processed my reply. I thanked the representative & exited the building with tears of joy though I didnt documentation of visit after logging into ssa.gov! There was 2 armed SPOs : an african gentleman who was professional, customer service oriented & treated clients with respect; the other Officer James was 6'2", medium build & had red left eye was rude, condescending, demeaning & yelled at clients. I suggested he speak with respect to clients after yelling at me for inquiring about my non appointment number being skipped. The restrooms were clean. The SSA centr had plenty of seating & a translator for clients.

Now why doesn't the SSA allow walk In's? If this is the process fine , but again why is the next available appointments months down the line? Come on Nations Capital , I know we can do a better job at serving our people. Hire the staff that's needed.

Good morning, I need my social security card but I have no documents just a photo of my government ID from the state I'm originally from on my phone and also a letter head for the shelter I'm currently in.
