Parking was horrible but that was expected -- DC. Although I had an appointment & got there on time the wait was over an hour. Good thing I brought knitting. I must say the employees were all they should be. Polite, efficient, and knowledgeable.

While the office now requires appointments months in advance for everyone, this is not the staff’s fault. Maria was efficient, knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. It look less than 5 minutes for her to get my name back! Incredibly thankful for civil servants like her. Thank you, Maria!!!

I had a very positive experience at this office. From the friendly lady at the reception, to the easy check-in process, to the competent service from Daniel who handled my application, I could not be more pleased. I arrived for my appointment and only waited a few minutes. When my number was called, Daniel greeted me with a smile and immediately made me feel comfortable. He was thorough in reviewing my application, answered all my questions, and took the time and effort to make sure everything was in order. The experience with this government office definitely exceeded my expectations!

March 23, around 10:00–11:00 AM, the staff at Window 5 showed a very bad attitude. I had a 10:30 AM appointment and arrived early at 9:40 AM, but I was not provided with my appointment check-in number until around 10:48 AM — already past my scheduled time. I was then served at another window and completed my service. When I returned to Window 5 to inform them and ask a follow-up question, the staff member casually accused me of “not showing up” and missing my appointment. This was unreasonable and unprofessional, especially since the delay in providing the appointment number was on their end.

This place was amazing. I walked in, signed in at the kiosk knowing I had a 9am appointment. They called me to the window about 9:25am and got my situation resolved. The lady who greeted me and my mom at the window before the agent assisted us was very kind, courteous, and professional. I saw before I went that people gave bad reviews, but if you make an appointment before you go there then you should have a great experience. Now if you walk-in just know that you may wait to get called up to the window but ultimately you will get turned away and be told to make an appointment. They also let you know over the intercom every so often that Nationwide SSA offices no longer do walk-ins and to call the National Line and request an appointment for the nature of your business. Other than that smooth, fast, and nice people equals a great experience. Ohh I had to add this in also, so if you do go to this location please go using C St SW then turn onto 13st SW and when you reach D St SW you will see the SSA office directly across from you slightly to the right but across the street. Google maps had our driver make a wrong turn and ended up crossing the bridge into VA. So please follow the route I just mentioned. Good luck and God Bless everyone!
