Expect half hour more to enter building. Strict security with metal detectors and additional wanding to enter. They have no place to hold anything that's considered contraband. So I had a lighter that I had to take out to my car

April 3rd, 2026, fyi. APPOINTMENTS ONLY!! Read again - APPOINTMENTS ONLY!! If you walk in - you allowed to take a ticket at the kiosk, but ONLY to be told, that they have "NO AVAILABILITY" and can "BOOK AN APPOINTMENT" for you. Nothing changed, tried 2 different offices with low amount of people inside, same lazy people staff. My case was - get an SSN for the first time (GC holder).

Grumpy security officers at the front entrance intake area. Get it together guys. The outside of the building alone has absolutely NO VISIBLE SIGNAGE for the social security office. This should be changed immediately because it's completely unacceptable. Only one window is open during office attendance check ins for helping folks coming in to get SSI cards etc. Totally unacceptable. Worse than going to the DMV. Not everyone has access to internet usage to do this stuff online, especially elderly people. Get it together guys! Edit: the only reason why I showed up at the office to take care of everything including updating address, is because the online registration process wouldn't recognize my dad's photo ID, so it would not let me make him an account to update anything or request new card. A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME, BOTH ONLINE AND IN PERSON AT THE OFFICE 🤦‍♀️

I have nothing but pleasant experience with this SSA location. From the phone call-- yes it was a long wait but I already anticipated it. The lady on the phone was very thorough and she made sure I got the appointment thru my email before ending the call; to the day of my appointment-- I arrived at 8:35am (9:15am appointment). I was the third in line. The security guard gave me a trivia about my last name (LOL) we both came from the same country. It was super quick transaction! Got my number thru kiosk touchscreen and was called right away. I was done in less than ten minutes. Just make sure you have your appointment confirmation (email or other means) and you have all your documents ready.

We were scheduled for December 22, 2025 at 9:10 am, and as soon as we entered the building, we (my husband and I) were immediately attended to at window 6. The employee served us very well, she was attentive and kind, and we left very happy!
