I had a chance to visit the Social Security offices today and what a pleasant experience. I made an appointment and waited may be no longer than 20 minutes. Went to the counter was helped with real good customer service. Also sparked up a pretty good conversation with the security guard. The cool thing is they said my Social Security card should be sent within two weeks.

Not a very fun place to be, but we all have to do it. I have to say that the staff there are truly awesome and make it 10 times better! Be kind to them. They are doing their jobs to the best of their ability and are incredibly helpful if you show respect. Thank you to everyone who works at that office!!!

First, I would like to note that services are provided by appointment only. If you have already scheduled your appointment online, the process is quick and easy. Check-in can be completed conveniently on your phone upon arrival. Please be aware that if you do not have an appointment, a representative can assist you in scheduling one; however, you will need to return on a later date. Please plan accordingly. :)

I received a call from a SSA Agent asking for a document. She asked me if I want to make an appointment and I said yes. I arrived before my appointment at 3:15pm and I’m still waiting at 4pm. So what’s the point of making an appointment if I’m still waiting after 45 minutes. It’s ridiculous!!!!

It's organised and the staff is helpful. The person on the gate is friendly and even remembered me when I visited after a couple of weeks. Sure, things take a while, but that's probably true at any SSA office given how understaffed they are. There was no chaos or confusion though. They sometimes call you by your name instead of slip number which is a bit annoying because you have to constantly hear out your name instead of just watching a screen. I hope they improve this.
