Cecilia Choi 4 months agoMy experience was great. I needed to do a name change after I got married. I came to this location because the next appointment, for the office near my place, was three months away. I was prompted to fill out my application online, and then I was able to make my reservation. When I arrived, I showed the security guard my appointment booking, checked in, and got called to a window in less than 10 minutes. The agent who helped me was kind and welcoming. I provided my ID, passport, and wedding certificate. He said that since I already filled out the application correctly, it was easy for him to verify the information. He was really good at explaining the next steps that will happen. I was done and out soon after that, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the process was. I am so glad I went in with the appointment.
Seongyeon Song 2 months agoI waited for three hours just to verify whether my Social Security information matches my date of birth. From the very beginning, the staff who helped me was rude. I clearly explained that I wanted to confirm whether my date of birth matches my Social Security record, but she didn’t even look at my passport or check my Social Security card. Instead, she told me to bring a birth certificate. Isn’t the date of birth clearly shown on a passport? I even asked, “Are you sure?” After coming home and looking it up, I found that a passport can be used for verification. Because of this staff, I wasted nearly four hours. This was a terrible experience, and the more I think about it, the more frustrating it is.
Richard S. 4 months agoThe most incompetent people I've seen in my life. Hold time on the phone is minimum 2 hours and then the worker just hangs up immediately, usually takes 4-5 calls, meaning 10+ hours of wait time to get an actual worker on the phone that talks to you and doesnt just hang up within a second. I hope literally every single person here will get fired so some competent people can get hired. What a shame to our city that this is what a normal person has to deal with.
Noelle Bellinghausen 2 years agoNeil helped me this morning with a name change and handling my father’s passing information. Everyone was so kind from the security folks checking us in, the gentleman who whacked us in to give us our ticket number and Neil who helped me at the window. They each gave me condolences for my father and just were very kind. Wanted to shout them out because I’m sure many of us come in with different issues and energy so bring your kindness in there with you guys! I went about 8:50am on a Monday morning and was in and out of there within 25 minutes! Thanks everyone!
Roanne Jayne 12 months agoI can understand why some of the ratings are bad but it probably depends on your reason for visit and whether you have an appointment bc my experience was pretty quick and easy. I think the most annoying part is getting through to someone on the phone to make an appointment, but I highly recommend getting one if you can. I showed up a little early for my 1:20 appt, but went straight to the entrance since there was no line outside. There’s one kiosk to check in and get a number (which I think is the reason why lines could get long). I only waited for about 10 minutes before my number was called. The person that helped me was nice and pleasant to talk to, and it only took about 10 minutes. So I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes probably because my reason for visit is not complex and seemed pretty standard. The space was clean and staff seemed organized. Would recommend going to this local office!
