Prior to arriving, I called the number that is available on the website to make an appointment and the wait time was 120 minutes. I work for a living and could not wait that long. So, I decided to walk in only to be told I could not be assisted unless I had an appointment. Mind you, I filled out the application prior to arriving and only need to verify my identity. It didn’t matter, I needed an appointment to be helped at all. Bottom line, they do not let you speak with anyone unless you have an appointment. The security guard kindly pointed me to the phone number on the wall and said I could make an appointment by asking for an agent and skipping all the questions on the automated line. I was able to secure an appointment 3 weeks from now at a different location all together. What a circus!

I came to this office with my three small children and waited for about an hour. The security guard was very kind and helpful, but the woman at the front desk only gave me a phone number and didn’t assist me. I explained that my English is limited and that I couldn’t make an appointment online because the system doesn’t allow it. If walk-ins are not accepted, then why is there a long waiting line and why do people have to wait for hours just to be told to call a number that no one answers? It’s very stressful, especially for parents with children.

Save yourself some time by checking in online here maybe 15-20 minutes in advance. You only get to check in on their kiosk after security, but if you do the QR Code, you skip that line a bit. ❤️😊 Efficient and it will text you when the window is ready. Would recommend SSN to provide a blocker for the kiosk machine so people aren’t punching their SSN into the machine where other people waiting can visibly see.

My first time ever visiting that office this morning had no appointment was there early briefly waited in line signed in on the kiosk and within 20 minutes I was on my way home exceptional service to guards at the front entrance also to guards at the entrance to the Social Security office on the 5th floor service could not be improved beyond all expectations
