They will lie and tell you they sent out a letter with an appointment date and time, but did not in fact do so. When that happens, they tell you that your "appointment" was missed, and to come into the office which is unfair to someone suffering a disability. Stop lying as if you're sending these appointment letters out because you're not!

Dear SSA Supervisor, On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM, I visited the Fresno Social Security office to apply for a Social Security Number for the first time. I brought all required documents, including my passport, ID, and Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Unfortunately, the staff member at window 4 did not understand her job nor the laws regarding applicants’ rights, and her behavior was unprofessional and poor. She incorrectly told me that I am not eligible due to a pending asylum case lasting three years. This information is false; I am entitled to a Social Security Number as a holder of a valid EAD and all required documentation. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and that measures be taken to ensure staff provide accurate information and treat applicants professionally and respectfully.

Even after 2 and a half hours of waiting, I knew walking in without an appointment was going to be a wait so that wasn't an issue. But huge shout out to *Denise* (sorry if I spelled it wrong) she was generous and was willing to help me through my process. I'm truly grateful for the help and assistance that I recieved today!

The worst place to come for services. These workers are slow as they can be. They don’t care for the people. It’s incredible how this office continues to be funded with our tax money. Useless to make appointments if they don’t even respect that.
