Went on January 2nd 2026, It went well & had an appointment to change last name and was out in 17 mins. I did see reviews here saying it was so bad but I will just say it probably depends on the person that is attending you and why folks are there for and also depends if the office is packed or not. On my end: make sure you make an appointment online, and take the needed documents with you (depends on your appointment)

I came here without an appointment I didn't wait long about 30-45 minutes. Much to my surprise. I was quick in and out the staff were friendly and courteous. This was a very good office. I didn't find anything wrong with it even the bathroom was clean.

I have not been able to get through to the SSA or SSI office. I need a copy of my original "Award letter" for my placement with senior housing.There are time constraints for this and I cannot get through by phone and cannot access their Web site.This has been going on for quite a while. I am the senior adult that will suffer without a home at all at 74 yrs. of age. I have no transportation since the bus system in Bakersfield has become so difficult to deal with. I no longer have access to the Get-a-lift program that was so helpful. Please do you have any info. on reasonable transportation possibilities? Thank you,Stephanie Spear

Good luck trying to get anything done. Everything requires an appointment and their services are very inefficient.

The absolute worst service I have ever experienced in 22 years of being a federal employee. You can't even get inside a publicly owned federal building. They made each person stand outside in 100 degree temperatures and wait to be served. No shade, no water, and no representative other than a Guard that would call for the next person. I will be filing a grievance with my congressman over this.
