Had an early morning appointment Like to arrive just in time as soon as I walked up hear my name been called through a speaker they have set up outside precisely at my appointment time I had scheduled security was friendly and was assured us that they were gonna wait for us .service was swift and friendly police was out in 20 minutes. Make sure to make appointment and be there on time for it

Nice clean environment, nice friendly staff, very busy so best thing is to make an appointment before coming for a faster time there, if no appointment you will have a wait time of several hours or more. I had no appointment but it was pretty quick for me but I had gotten there early before they opened and got in line. My trip there was good. You can actually do things online on social security account which is faster, just create you an account or if you have one login.

You don't have an appointment, so you're just wasting your time. You'll be waiting outside in the heat, and after spending 2.5 hours in line and another hour inside, all they'll do is schedule you for another visit. Government offices can be incredibly frustrating.

I was told on the phone to go to the office and that, because my case involved fraud, I would not need an appointment. When I got there, the guard at the door told me I had to wait in line outside. I waited. 2 hours, in 40 degree weather, alongside many other senior citizens with various disabilities, also without appointments. One 90 year old woman had gone from the hospital to a care facility while being treated for pneumonia. Social Security cut her benefits arbitrarily assuming she was living at the facility. In actuality, she was there for one week. Apparently, the DOGE plan includes stealing monies and letting our seniors suffer. Others in line were leaning on walkers, assisted by caregivers, hunched over, complaining and the cold, and some eventually gave up for the day. There are two guards, both with service weapons. One is respectful; the other should be in a different line of work. At 3:30, the guards open the door, allowing one person at a time, to have bags searched and to check in at a kiosk. Once inside, there are at least one hundred seats available with about 15-20 being used. I asked the guard why people had to wait outside. He said it was the supervisor's decision. When I was finally called to a window, I was highly irritated and in extreme pain due to recent complete knee replacement surgery. I complained to the worker and she asked why I hadn't told that to the guard at the door. Ha! If they aren't letting 90 year olds in or people reliant on caretakers or clearly disabled people in, why would I even think to ask for special treatment? If you are planning to go to Bakersfield Social Security offices, be prepared for long lines, bring a lawn chair if standing for two hours is a problem, expect delays, and demand to be accommodated inside if you are disabled.

Why do they have you schedule an appointment wait for your number to be called just to give you another number to wait on and they need to have more windows open it would get people out faster it's ridiculous
