I went in to change my last name and made an appointment online; even though I think we ALL know in advance that the wait will be long, it’s very normal, similar to DMV, but it still was quicker since I made an appointment. Processing my disability claim the SSD sent letter request through the USPS to my medical doctors and facilities requesting a copy of my medical records when my medical records were already uploaded and provided. This is a huge problem as each individual patient has to sign a release for the records to be sent to anywhere. This arcade process has caused tremendous amount of delays at no fault of the claimant, and the SSD only a lot a certain amount of time that if they don’t get the records, they make a decision based on not having the medical records to make an informed decision often resulting in the claim being denied. Hospitals & Medical professionals Governed by policy and protection of sensitive information by law and legal guidelines Will not, and should not release personal medical records to anyone based on receiving a letter in the mail requesting them. Many use third-party companies that prepare your medical records and send them but only upon written request & consent. SSA cannot request directly from many providers. This is a huge disconnect with how medical records are obtained nowadays.

Went to get an SSN Waited for an hour and a half, i didn’t have an appointment, I showed up at 2pm, so i would recommend to go by 1:30-2;00 as its not that busy.. I had good experience overall The man that did my papers was so kind

I cannot say enough good things about Ms Lofton in this office. She went above and beyond to help me navigate pretty complicated issues that kept me from applying for Medicare/SS. Without her, I don't think it would have ever been resolved. I am very grateful to her.

The wait is ridiculous. The place is overwhelmed. Fortunately because of Eric, I got my issue taken care of. They need a permanent express window and a window for the elderly. It is shameful to see elderly having to stand in line - many seemed like cancer patients. We need to do better. I suppose we can thank Elon for the staff cuts. I doubt he has ever waited for 2 hours.
