Scott Wilson 5 months agoI am giving it three stars only because of the lady that I did finally get to see. I dont blame the actual office itself. I understand with all the cuts in federal offices has taken its toll. I stiil do believe if you are getting paid to do a job you should do it. I had a scheduled appointment for 1:00 p.m. I finally got called back around 2:30 to be told that something went wron with my sign in when I first arrived. I was given another # and I would be called again shortly. Forty five minutes later I was called back and applied for my new SS Card. I can tolerate all of that. The problem I have is when you walk past all the open windows and see the workers and their activities! One lady had a mirror applying makeup to her face. Another window there was two employees just chatting it up about something really funny. One employee was playing a slots game on her phone! remember in the waiting room there is about 60 people waiting to get seen. I would say at least 30% of the people had some type of disability that had to have someone drive them to the appointment. So when you hear that there is a push to shut down all the SS Administration Offices maybe try to see the reasoning.
Lanhiyah Curtis 4 months agoI was absolutely appalled by how rude their staff is. They told me Dire Need can only be applied to cases involving a terminal illness, which completely contradicts SSA policy. I called back for further clarification and got the same rep. I pushed back that TERI and DIRE are two different flags. She doubled down and refused to let me speak to a supervisor. I was in tears over how condescending this woman was. If you are just calling for information on your case, I advise to call a different office.
Sara Nichols a month agoMs. Watson was the first person I saw yesterday when I got my number at the office. She was so helpful and sent me on to another worker to change my name. The other worker was terrible. She was rude and insisted I needed an appointment even though I called that morning and was told I did not need one. I went back to the front and Ms. Watson did everything I needed done in less than 5 minutes and was so friendly. She really made my day. I was going to file a complaint but after she took care of me I had to leave her a shout out. Keep up the great work and I hope you get a raise. You were absolutely wonderful to work with.
Marni Loftis a month agoI didn't have an appointment. When my name was called I was told at the window that my particular service needed an appointment. He saw my dejection and that I had a folder with everything in order and said you've been waiting a long time to do this. I said yes. He said, I can do it. He was done very quickly and kindly. I have never been so impressed with a government employee and I am one myself.
Schelisa Cubit 3 months agoI was tasked with supporting and advocating for one of my clients during our visit to the Social Security Administration office in Edmond, Oklahoma. We arrived early, securing our position as the first to check in and take a seat. Unfortunately, we were informed that appointments were strictly adhered to, and we could not be seen without a scheduled time. While we had the option to wait for potential cancellations or no-shows, this could result in an extended wait time. Fortunately, a young man at window nineteen proved to be exceptionally helpful. Throughout our time there, several senior citizens expressed their frustrations regarding the cold environment, the difficulty in hearing representatives call their names, uncomfortable seating, and challenges in navigating the online portal from their phones or desktops. These issues highlighted the pressing need for assistance among those in attendance.
