They’re closing in 30 minutes, yet both windows A/B and 6 are already shut. Out of all the service windows, only one is open, which is unacceptable. It feels like the staff have checked out early and are simply waiting for the clock to run down instead of doing their jobs. The overall attitude in here is dismissive and unprofessional there’s a clear lack of basic courtesy and accountability

I recently visited the Social Security office for a Social Security card renewal and had a genuinely positive experience. The staff were professional, patient, and respectful throughout the process. While the wait times were somewhat long, they were still manageable, especially for those who did not schedule an appointment in advance. I appreciated how organized the office was and how efficiently the staff handled a high volume of visitors while still maintaining professionalism and courtesy. Thank you to their team for their efficiency, customer service, and dedication to helping the public.

I had to go to social security today because my elderly mom couldn't locate card. She is incapacitated and unable to handle getting replacement on her own. I was not able to obtain replacement on line so had to visit office. After a wait, I was called to a window. Ms. Ortiz helped me and problem now solved. She was so helpful and kind to me as well. I truly appreciated her help! Thank you Ms. Ortiz!

I came to the Jersey City SSA office on West Side Ave because there were no appointments available online for weeks. I took ticket B789 at 11:11 AM and waited for over 4 hours, only to be told they’re not accepting walk-ins for SSN applications without an appointment. The waiting room was full, but no B-series tickets were ever called or displayed. There was no communication the entire time — no staff updates, no signage, and the display boards kept rotating A and S numbers only. If walk-ins aren’t accepted for certain services, they should state it clearly at the entrance or on their website. Wasting an entire day only to be turned away is incredibly frustrating.

I didn’t take any appointment but should take token, wait for your number (turn) and then go to window. There are multiple windows available at this location. Today I came at 10:15 am and my turn came at 11:45 pm due to 1st working day of the month. Got good response from Window A.
