I’ve never been treated so rudely and cruel by a staff in my life. I never write reviews, however I think it’s important that (hopefully) the proper personnel read this. I made an appointment weeks ago to simply get a new card to reflect my new married last name. Fast forward to today, June 9, and about an hour before my appointment I was instructed via text to check-in once I was “on site”. So as soon as I was in front of the building walking in, I clicked the link to check-in since that’s what I assumed they meant by on site. Little did I know I was about to be REPEATEDLY yelled at for misunderstanding their definition of “on site”. As I’m walking out the elevator and approaching the entrance, I get a text at 2:40pm letting me know window #2 is ready for me. I hear them calling out my ticket number and I quickly inform them that’s me as I’m walking in. I immediately get shot glares from all of security and YELLED at me for checking in before I arrived. I tried to nicely inform them I must have misread the text and that I was sorry and was met with more aggression. I was being yelled at repeatedly to hurry and put all my stuff down and go through the metal detector. One even yelled at me “DO YOU HAVE WEAPONS? PUT YOUR STUFF DOWN!” when I was frazzled at what to do since there was someone in line in front of me. I didn’t understand they were telling me to skip this person as it was not being communicated to me in the chaos. Please keep in mind that I am also 8 (almost 9) months pregnant!!!! I am in no way a threat to society. Just someone with a simple appointment trying to check off my pre-baby to-do list. I then walk up to the woman at window number 2 with the security guard next to where I was supposed to sit and she is looking at me like I have ruined her entire day. She ALSO proceeds to yell at me along with the security guard. Again I get asked why I checked in if I wasn’t there and she proceeds to yell at me for essentially wasting her time. I once again try to apologize and explain that I misread “on site”. I was not intentionally trying to cheat the system, it was a genuine misread on my part. This woman who lacks all empathy just got even more mad and yelled “DID YOU EVEN GRAB A TICKET?!”. I said no since the text message digitally gave me a ticket # after I checked in and security told me to immediately come to you… She said NO go grab a ticket and sit down. So I go to the screen and answer the same questions I just did via my text link, and get a new ticket number. The place is completely packed and as I’m scanning the room to see where my pregnant self can squeeze in, I have ANOTHER security person approach me to fuss at me. This time it’s about the water bottle I’m holding and asking how I got it in. Mind you this is a giant Stanley cup that I in no way hid while going through security. I told him I simply walked in with it. He proceeds to aggressively tell me I can hold onto it but I CANNOT drink it and if it spills that it won’t be good for me. I said I’m sorry and that I’m 8 months pregnant and anemic and literally don’t go anywhere without a water these days. I promised not to sip it and sat down. Not even 15 seconds after I sat down ANOTHER security person walked up to me and told me to go back to window number 2. Apparently the woman working the window just wanted to teach me some sort of lesson?? So now I have to get back up and go back to the woman that just yelled at me. She wouldn’t even make eye contact with me (if she had she would’ve noticed I was in tears at this point). She already had my information pulled up. She asked me a handful of questions and then handed me an envelope. I had to ask what was even in it. Once I had that confirmed, I left. So essentially, I was treated like a criminal for misreading a text and degraded by every employee in there for what could’ve been a less than 5-minute appointment. This office should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for treating another human being like this over a simple misunderstanding.

You can never reach anyone and you wait for at least 40 minutes on the phone. I don't understand why the case workers have an extensions if you have to constantly get the voicemail, you leave a message for them and they never call you back! You have to pay to park in Downtown only to get no where because they still don't help you. I went to the Terry Town location because at least you don't have to pay to park at that location only for them to send me back to the Downtown location just to talk to someone else! Trying to help my elderly parents but this is so frustrating and taking off from work to do this and still get nothing done is even worse!

Honestly the staff that answers the phones are rude. They cut you off in the middle of you talking when you're simply just searching for answers. My daughter has been on the waitlist for her disability. For a year in a half. The process of getting her approved took more months once they finally reached out to get her evaluated. She is now approved and received benefits for 2 months so far. Now I'm waiting on her back pay. They already told me how much they owe her in back pay. I opened up a separate account which I was instructed to do specifically for the back pay. Now I haven't heard anything from them in 2 months. Keep calling and one lady was literally trying to argue with me about it takes time. They don't even understand the frustration. WHAT IS THE HOLD UP! Then they don't even release the whole amount they give you a certain amount every six months until the backpay is fully paid off, but yet they are taking forever to release the first payment of the backpay.

Accessing the building was easy. Upon entering the office, there are 3 armed guards and a metal detector. Go to the kiosk and get a ticket. Wait for your number to be called. Pretty seamless process.

The staff is VERY RUDE. I had an appointment at 2pm today and when I arrived the security guard downstairs said the office closed for the day. I still went up and they told me the same thing, refused to let me in and screamed at me through the closed doors. If someone has a appointment for a certain time and y’all decide to close the office doors beforehand and not see anyone else don’t you think you should give a courtesy call to the appointments for the rest of that day ?? I don’t give a damn if it’s carnival time and y’all trying to beat everybody and get a spot at the parade. Still have some decency and courtesy for people especially elderly and the people who catch public transportation.
